PROP & SETUP GUIDE — "The Anonymous"
An Encore Kit for Letters to Lilith

LIGHTING

Low and warm-to-cool, never overhead. Best options, in order of ease:
- Table lamps or a single dim floor lamp in the "bar" area.
- String lights or a salt lamp for amber warmth.
- If your bedroom has a window with any city, street, or moonlight, kill the room lights entirely for the main scene and let that be your only source — this is the letter's signature image (borrowed city-light, not enough to be seen from outside).

MUSIC

Low, instrumental, unhurried — think hotel-bar-after-eleven. A solo violin or piano playlist, or any "late night jazz" streaming station, kept quiet enough that voices stay just above it. Nothing with lyrics; you want silence to feel possible, not filled.

SCENT

Something a little sharp and grown-up rather than sweet: leather, cedar, or a good whiskey poured for atmosphere (drink optional, prop mandatory — even a glass of water in a whiskey glass sells the image). Zinc/metal-and-citrus candle scents (bergamot, black pepper, oakmoss) work well if you have one.

WARDROBE

- Her: a dress or outfit that zips or unzips in one long pull — this matters for the letter's key move (dress dragged off one shoulder at a time, never fully removed). Something you don't mind creasing.
- Partner: a suit jacket, blazer, or the sharpest thing in the closet, worn open, no tie. The point is "put-together but not performing."
- Both: remove anything that visibly identifies you for the "bar" beat — rings, badges, name-bearing anything — and set it aside deliberately, in character, as part of beat 1.

PROP CHECKLIST

- [ ] Two drink glasses (real or prop) — whiskey neat or your equivalent
- [ ] A "bar" surface — kitchen counter, dresser, or actual bar cart
- [ ] Low lighting source (lamp, candles, string lights)
- [ ] Instrumental/jazz playlist queued and ready
- [ ] A window, mirror, or full-length reflective surface accessible from the bed or a wall
- [ ] Her dress/outfit with easy access (zipper, wrap, buttons)
- [ ] A "coat pocket" or drawer to stash rings/badges/phones before starting
- [ ] Optional: a folded blank paper or envelope, for the afterglow beat if you choose to play the "papers" moment symbolically
